So my basic argument is, assuming there is a God, what was the purpose in creating humans. As far as I can tell, the only conceivable purpose is selfishness. Assuming for a second, that there is a God, that exists outside of this universe, outside of time, and ignoring the question of where It (use of neuter pronoun used to emphasize ambiguity of God's sex) came from, what would be It's reason for creating humans. The only satisfactory answer is that God was seeking company, or wanted a power trip implying: that It is either lonely or selfish. A being existing alone outside of this realm, Earth, would have nothing to do except to think. For all eternity: as we are not addressing God's origin, we assume that he has existed forever, and will continue to exist forever. So God sat around forever until he decided to make humans. Sitting around in the ether would not be a very exciting past time for any human I am sure, and, projecting to God, not a very entertaining one for a supreme being. So, in order to spice things up a little, he gets this idea to create something. Having existed forever in a void, he has no concept of ... it is just all so silly and preposterous, I cannot believe that anyone believes that there could be a Supreme Being, or a God or something like that. I mean come on!!! Why create something if you exist perfectly fine on your own. How could you exist for eternity without having some way to measure time. So that is why God created humans, to pass the time. This implies that God is bored, dissatisfied with his own existence, seeking to make something better than himself. HELLO!!! So I have this feeling that I need to believe in something. I told this to a friend of mine who told me that need was programmed in me by God so that I would seek Him, that only by finding God could I be truly fulfilled in life. But how can you say that God created this feeling. What about society. Living in a predominately monotheistic society makes monotheism seem pretty attractive. I remember being around 7 years old. I was sleeping in the bunk above my brother, and he sarted crying because he thought there were monsters under the bed. After my mom came and soothed him, I went in to my parents' room crying. Why? I didn't believe in monsters, but seeing someone else believe caused doubts in myself. So, according to the argument of my friend, there really was a monster there, because I wanted to believe it. Contrarily, that desire to believe what everyone else believes one very good reason to doubt the existence of that believed in object. If you are believe a monster is under your bed only because everyone says so, there is good cause for you to investigate and doubt your own beliefs.
So where did God come from? Eternity? He was just there? Don't ask questions about God? Don't ask questions? Wait a second, that is awfully convenient for you to say "don't ask questions." Why ask the question "where did humans come from?" If you are going to start asking questions, you sure as hell had better not stop asking when someone tells you to.
